Based in Emporia, KS, Handlebars of Hope is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) bicycle outreach ministry designed to give hope to those in need, locally and in Mexico.
Each year we spend several months serving communities in Matamoros, Mexico, bringing them much needed hope and support. Since 2014 we have given away thousands of bikes and done countless free repairs. Christ has also empowered us to set up a youth cycling club at an orphanage, teach bike repair to men in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, organize free bicycle repair outreach events, and much more. We are also working to assist current businesses in Mexico and to launch new businesses to help empower those desperately seeking employment.
Locally we have been able to provide bikes to Big Brothers Big Sisters, SOS, Salvation Army, USD 253 and USD 252 school districts, Emporia Men’s Shelter, Monique-A-Wish, children and adults with special needs and those with transportation needs. We also provided bike mechanic & cleaning clinics.
La Grind, Gravel Stage Race

High Gear Cyclery, Inc.
We have been serving the Emporia community since 1999 and our goal has always been to provide big city selection while retaining that unparalleled small town service. We are passionate about bicycles but more passionate about giving back. We truly believe it doesn’t matter how much our business makes but how much it can give.Type your paragraph here.
